Innovation and Us

Location: Shida Kartli
The project aims to support internally displaced young people to develop entrepreneurial and employability skills through innovative approaches and non-formal education. The project aims to train young people in three the most in demand directions in labor market: Web-design, marketing and English language and help them develop necessary employability skills. In the framework of the project young participants will establish a social enterprise that will serve as an e-commerce platform where other social enterprises will sell their products.

Economic Development through Agricultural Assistance for IDP Farmers in Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti regions (EDKK)

Location: Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti
The EDKK project is designed to contribute to the poverty reduction and social inclusion for Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in Georgia, focusing on the creation of a strong and competitive rural production, processing and marketing sector that contributes to the economic development and employment for old and new caseload IDP farmers and youth in Georgia. Project activities include strengthening of farmers Regional Center (Extension service center) and young farmers’ centers and farmers’ unions/cooperatives, arranging demonstration farms and organizing training and consulting on business development, disaster risk reduction and climate change related issues.

Advancing IDP Women and Youth in Shida Kartli

The Project aims to empower IDP women and youth and diversify opportunities for employment, self-reliance, livelihoods and skills development through improved access to vocational training, creation of income-generating activities and enhancing entrepreneurial skills.

Assisting Kakhetian farmers in demo plots establishment
Donor: World Vision International in Georgia
Start/End date: 1 December, 2011 – 10 April, 2012
Location: Kakheti
RDFG was contracted to assist World Vision Kakheti Area Development Program (ADP) to provide an assessment for identification of project beneficiary farmers and local schools for establishment of demo plots. For identified beneficiaries RDFG provided demo plot specific training and organized an exchange visit Kakheti ADP community farmers and school students to the RDFG demo plots and Young Farmer Centers and arranged the discussions the association’s beneficiaries. RDFG Farmers Field Schools (FFS) specialists provided a continuous capacity building to establish and run the demo plots as well as facilitated organization of seasonal school vegetable fairs.

The overall goal of phase I was to contribute to poverty reduction and to youth inclusion in livelihood development for IDP families in Georgia. Project activities included establishment of Farmers Regional Information Centre (Extension Service Center) and Youth Farmers’ Centers, promotion of farmers’ union/cooperatives, arrangement of demonstration plots and markets, provision of trainings and consultations on agricultural development, business development DRR and Climate Change topics within RDFG Farmers Field Schools (FFS).
