Call for Field Agents, International Project

The EU-financed, AFD-implemented FinExCoop Georgia project is looking to hire four full-time Field Agents for the duration of the project. Ideal candidates would start within the next month. The project duration is four years.

The project will hire four specialists, one in each of the following fields: row crops, permanent crops/orchards, livestock, agri-finance.

The ideal candidate will have practical experience in the field, and formal or informal education in their field of specialty.

MUST BE: enthusiastic, energetic, a fast learner, ambitious, willing to travel (within Georgia) up to 60% of the time. Fluency in Georgian and basic English are required. Knowledge of Russian, Azeri, and/or Armenian will be an advantage.

Selected candidates will undergo special training on project-specific approaches and technology, and will then share that knowledge with farmers, cooperatives, and agri-business owners in the regions. They will consult farmers on modern techniques, evaluate the progress of demonstration plots by measuring key indicators, serve as a contact point between beneficiaries and project management, and assist in community mobilization of key stakeholders.

  2. Permanent Crop Field Agent
    1. 50-60% travel time
    2. Undergo training on modern farming techniques
    3. Consult farmers on modern techniques
    4. Evaluate the progress of pilot projects by measuring key indicators
    5. Serve as a contact point between beneficiaries and project management
    6. Assist in community mobilization of farmers and other key stakeholders in the regions
  3. Livestock Field Agent
    1. 50-60% travel time
    2. Undergo training on modern farming techniques
    3. Consult farmers on modern techniques
    4. Evaluate the progress of pilot projects by measuring key indicators
    5. Serve as a contact point between beneficiaries and project management
    6. Assist in community mobilization of farmers and other key stakeholders in the regions
  4. Agri-Finance Field Agent
    1. 40-50% travel time
    2. Undergo training on access to finance and modern financial instruments/technology
    3. Coach farmers and cooperatives on financial management/access to finance
