RDFG joins a big family of Ruritage

On October 30-31, 2019, in the framework of the EU-funded research project Ruritage, Association Rural Development for Future Georgia (RDFG) participated in the launch workshop of the Ruritage project held in Appignano del Tronto, Italy. RDFG was selected as an additional replicator to be a part of the Ruritage project from the European Neighborhood Policy countries, Asia, and Arab States. From Georgia, Vano Grigolashvili, RDFG Chairman participated in the workshop.

The workshop supported the replicators in the launching of the new – implementation phase. Within the framework of the event, the participants presented their organizations and learned insights about Ruritage regeneration plans and tools. On the first day of the workshop, a separate session was dedicated to the pitch presentations from Additional Replicators from all over the world, including RDFG. Then, they presented the drafts of their regeneration plans together with the first steps within the implementation phase. The presentations were made about the co-development phase, too; Different workshops were delivered on the marketing strategies for the replicators.

RURITAGE is a 4-year long EU-funded research project striving to enable rural regeneration through cultural and natural heritage. RURITAGE aims to sustainably enhance unique local heritage for regional and community development.

Throughout the RURITAGE project, 13 rural areas have been selected as Role Models. Role Models can be considered as successful cases where rural areas have been regenerated thanks to cultural and natural heritage. In RURITAGE, Role Models practices are analyzed to be transferred to 6 selected Replicators, one per SIA. Replicators represent local communities within rural territories that are in the process of building their heritage-led regeneration strategies, but need to improve their skills, knowledge and capacity building.
