On July 5, 2019, Association Rural Development for Future Georgia (RDFG) signed a Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation with the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Within the framework of the memorandum, RDFG and GCCI will actively cooperate in researching the issues of their common interests and developing educational programs, as well as work on raising awareness of vocational education. From RDFG’s side, the memorandum was signed by Vano Grigolashvili, RDFG Chairman and from GCCI Grigol Baiburti, GCCI General Director signed the document.
One of the main goals of the memorandum is to cooperate in order to enhance the awareness in vocational education and to support the proper implementation of the VET reform in the country. Within the framework of the cooperation, RDFG and GCCI will organize joint events such as lectures, business-conferences, forums, training sessions, meetings and discussions not only in the country but outside it, as well. Besides, they will support the enhancement of qualification and professional level in the field of service and industry. For this purpose, they will prepare and publish manuals, articles and other kinds of publications. Furthermore, the two sides agree to develop and implement joint projects in order to get funding from local and international organizations.
Within the document, special attention will be paid to the agricultural sector, with an emphasis on agro-production and processing the primary agricultural products. Moreover, under the scope of the Higher Education and VET project, RDFG and GCCI will try to enhance the qualification of entrepreneurs by facilitating the implementation of professional training sessions, internships, and practices.
